Microblading
Microblading is a form of semi permanent makeup where a microblading tool is used to create individual hairstrokes. This manually deposits pigment into the upper layers of the skin. The healed result is individual hairstrokes which will last around 12 to 18 months, before a colour boost session is needed to refresh the colour. and fill faded areas of the brow.
Microblading is not suitable for very oily skin, skin with visibly open pores, mature skin, or brows that have existing, old semi permanent makeup work. If you still want hairstokes, but your skin is unsuitable, then another option is machine hairstrokes, which uses a Semi Permanent Makeup tattoo machine to create individual hairstokes. This method suitable for all skin types.
If you have existing brow tattooing then a course of Botched Ink saline tattoo removal sessions can be used to lift out/lighten old pigment, ready for a fresh new set of brows.
Machine hairstrokes
Machine hairstrokes uses a Semi Permanent Makeup (SPMU) tattoo machine to create individual hairstrokes. The healed result, as with microblading is individual hairstrokes. Machine hairstrokes are suitable for most skin types and will last around 12 to 24 months, before a colour boost session is needed to refresh the colour. and fill faded areas of the brow.
Hairstrokes are not suitable over the top of old semi permanent makeup work, unless it is very faded/barely visible.

Powder Brows
Powder brows uses soft shading with a Semi Permanent Makeup (SPMU) tattoo machine to create a softly shaded brow. The healed result will look like brow makeup, where brows have been shaped and defined with a soft powder. the front of the brows (near the bridge of your nose) are blended out with a lighter dusting of pigment, to keep a natural finish, and avoid overdone, solid looking brows. It's worth noting that when looking at brow photos on social media, the vast majority of photos are of freshly finished brows. Fresh brows initially look quite dark and bold. Once healed these brows will soften and lighten by around 30% leaving a much softer healed result. Powder/Ombre brows are suitable for all skin types and will last around 12 to 24 months +, before a colour boost session is needed to refresh the colour. and fill faded areas of the brow.
Powder brows can be done over old semi permanent makeup work, to revive, refresh and correct faded brows. In cases where existing brow tattooing is very dark/solid, saline tattoo removal, or laser may be recommended before a new set of brows can be created.
Combo Brows
Combo brows are a combination of hairstrokes to the front of the brows, blending into powder brows towards the middle, arches and tails of the brows. This gives a natural 'fluffy' textured front to the brows with the hairstrokes, blending out to a powder brows for colour depth and definition in the arch and tails Combo brows are suitable for all skin types and will last around 12 to 24 months, before a colour boost session is needed to refresh the colour. and fill faded areas of the brow.
Combo brows may be suitable over the top of old semi permanent makeup work, provided the fronts of the brows are faded enough.

Lip Blush
Lip blush uses a SPMU tattoo machine to deposit pigment into the lips, giving a wash of colour. Lip blush once healed gives a soft, subtle blush of colour to the lips, helps even out asymmetry, redefines the border of the lip and gives the illusion of a fuller, more youthful lip without filler. Pigments come in a wide range of blendable shades, from nude and natural, to bolder and brighter. Pigments can be blended to match your favorite lipstick tones and shades.
Immediately following treatment, expect your lips to be a little swollen and quite intense in colour. Any swelling will subside quite quickly and colour intensity will fade and heal up to 50% lighter. The majority of images on social media show freshly completed lips, rather than healed.
Results typically last from 2 to 5 years. A colour boost session at 1 to 2 years can be booked to refresh your colour.
Saline tattoo removal and emergency removal
Botched Ink is a saline based tattoo removal system, used to lift, remove and improve unwanted/old/discoloured microblading and SPMU/ permanent makeup. It can also be used to lift some pigment out of existing brows that you ARE already happy with, but need lightening a little before a refresh can be done. Botched ink works by lifting the pigment out of the tattooed area and will work on all colours including reds, oranges and white pigment, as well as standard brow/lip colours. The solution is implanted into the top layers of the skin with little to no discomfort, thanks to its skin friendly PH formulation.
As a guide, it is recommended that you commit to 3 treatments, spaced 8 weeks apart, then we can assess how easily the pigment is removing and form the next plan for any additional work needed.
Emergency removal of brows, lips, scalp, if performed within the first 48hrs will remove up to 80% of implanted pigment. If you've had a service gone wrong and require emergency removal, then please contact us on our Facebook page as this is regularly checked outside of salon opening times.
